Occupation (Non-Students): Auror
Childhood: James Potter was born in 1960. He was fairly normal kid, and, though he had no siblings, he made quick friends with many of the young Muggles in town. Though he knew that he was a wizard, he enjoyed playing Little League Baseball with his friends. He parents did not mind this at all, and fostered these, though they made certain that James understood that things would change when he went to Hogwarts. This prospective change made James nervous, and unlike many children he was not extremely excited to go. However, the prospect of being a Gryffindor like his father eventually lifted James’s spirits, just in time for his departure.
Hogwarts: James became fast friends with Remus Lupin and Sirius Black immediately. Peter was a bit of a tag-along, but none of them had any real problems with his presence. They did, however, have a huge problem with Severus Snape. James had some serious personal problems with Severus, mainly because he stood in the way of his being with Lily. Aside from that, James despised Severus because of how different he was. Unable to understand Severus’s motivations or his uncanny success in potions, James shunned him from the very start. Despite Dumbledore’s earnest attempts to unite Severus and James, no friendship ever budded there. The two would forever be enemies, fighting for the girl they loved until the very end.
Post-Hogwarts: Lily, on the other hand, was obviously perfect. James fell for her hard in his third year, but she would have nothing to do with him. This only made her more desirable, and James persevered until at last she agreed to a date. It was quite the whirlwind romance from there, resulting in a wedding when they were just out of school. The two families could not have been happier to be joined, though Petunia always hated James for being a wizard. Their first and only son is James’s pride and joy, and he’s loved him with all of his hearts from the moment he first set eyes on Harry’s little face. James comes to all of Harry’s Quidditch games, and tries to get as involved with his schooling as possible. James takes great pride in his son, and the day that he handed over the invisibility cloak was one of the happiest of his life.
Currently: An Auror was all that James had ever wanted to be, and he loves his work. He hopes one day to be Head of the Auror Office, and he goes to work with a great big smile on his face everyday. However, Auror business has been trivial during his time working for the Ministry. With the darkness rising, James fears that business may be more serious. He worries about his family being in danger, but is will to do whatever it takes to protect them.
